breakfast survey

i was lamenting to thefoo recently about my un-creative breakfasts, of late.

i need new ideas for the culinary delights that start my day! so, here's what i want you to do: post a comment and tell me what you usually eat for breakfast. please.

(my tummy will be very appreciative of your help...)

one of the following, in my order of preference:
eggs with salt, pepper and salsa
French toast
bagle with veggie cream cheese
homemade waffles
cereal (Kashi, the ones that look like Cheerios but taste 10 times better - and I'll argue that point)

Definitely the bagel (honey oat or sesame) with veggie cream cheese. I also enjoy oatmeal with honey and fresh berries. Eggs and toast with strawberry jam are also good, or if you're feeling skinny toast with nutella rocks. Hmmm....If I have lots of extra time I like to make an egg and cheese burrito with salsa. That Kashi cereal-it is called Kashi Heart to Heart is also very good, but sometimes it has unpleasant side effects a couple hours later so eat with caution and only if the bathroom at work is really out of earshot.
I LOVE cheese omelettes but I can never make them as good as my dad's so I only really eat them when I go home. Hope that helps!

OK, for one, Kashi Go Lean Crunch is WAY better than the regular kind. Try it with sliced banana and soy milk (or real milk of you like cow products). Otherwise, the following is great: a smoothie with: frozen fruit, yogurt, juice or soy milk, and protein powder. Freeze fresh, in season fruit for smoothies. My fave is frozen banana (organic taste way better), frozen blueberry (antioxidants), a half carton of organic blueberry or vanilla or plain yogurt, some soy milk, and about a tablespoon or two of Spirutein Vanilla protein powder. Other options are tropical fruits (mango, pineapple etc) blended with mango or guava nectar, a little mango yogurt, and some protein powder. Smoothies can be way fun. Get on epicurious.com and search smoothie - could be fun:)
Oh yeah, you could also make your own granola and eat with yogurt or [soy] milk.

buy a bag of frozen red bean buns. place one (two if small) on a plate, cover with wet paper towel. microwave 1 minute 30 seconds. EAT.

Why didn't I learn until now that I can make all my steamed buns in the MICROWAVE???? So easy to have for breakfast!
