congratulations to me!
i have not blogged about this yet for fear of jinxing myself and not being asked to join... but for the last month and a half, i have been training with an all-womens running team here in san francisco; the impalas.
these women are FAST. i'm consistently in the slowest group, which consists of several mothers and/or women in their 40's and 50's. and they kick my ass.
the girls my age are so much faster than me that i hardly run with them.
anyways, after many weeks of pain and suffering, i guess i tricked them into believing i had potential to get faster or something, because they asked me to join the team.
YAY! I MADE IT!
so i get to race a lot this fall and winter, probably most weekends. it will be fun. now i just need to get my fat ass back in shape and slimmed down so i can even start to dream with running along side the middle group of women (the fast group is like my 5 year goal).
